Trying to re-group after postponing my instrument training indefinitely. One of the reasons is a very good one that I'm super excited about and can't post. For that I need to be COVID free too, so I can't take any chances. I'll need to be available for a few months. My CFI and I met … Continue reading A Plan!

Some 2020 pics
Not as many as last year, the camera didn't quite make it outdoors as much. The pool/palm tree was Mexico right before the shut down. I came home March 7th to a strict shelter in place that seems to be rearing up again. Onward to 2021! Mt Diablo drone shot last night.
Flying & Studying
If it weren't for this pending check ride it might just be the end of me. You'd think Christmas would keep me busy but I'm not on top of it. I won't go into stores and the things I ordered on-line are delayed until the end of January. We might just have a dinner here … Continue reading Flying & Studying
Finally, a Trip!
I wrote this right before the pandemic: https://helleren.blog/2020/02/12/california-week/ It's a 3 hour drive from my house to Mendocino. Places are opening up with masks and heavy duty hand sanitizers that leave you with dry, cracked hands by the end of a shopping trip. It's crowded too!! Downtown Mendocino is a cute, half day type of … Continue reading Finally, a Trip!
Day 34: Mental Health day
Much needed day on the Bay, felt so nice to forget about everything and sail. The docks were re-done, we were asked to move the boat back to the new docks and by the time we got it started it looked like perfect winds. OMG, I hope everyone has some way to escape just … Continue reading Day 34: Mental Health day
Day 32: Astrology charts
Why not? There's nothing to do. My friend is totally into this, she sent me my chart this morning according to my birth time/place. It's all a little fascinating, there's a little bit of truth to everything. Not totally into it, pretty interesting though what she brought up about the Saturn cycle. It takes … Continue reading Day 32: Astrology charts
Day 31: Mutiny
Now that this COVID ordeal is completely out of control with no end in sight, because for some reason widespread testing is not available, everyone's completely freaked out. The big mutiny in my hometown of Manhattan Beach is opening the beaches back up for the residents, all LA beaches are closed. It does seem a … Continue reading Day 31: Mutiny
Porsche vs UPS Truck – Hwy 1, California
Looks like I won't be making the Porsche racing squad anytime soon, even if I thought I was jamming down Hwy 1 from Mendocino to Jenner to get home. The time to do that drive is soon, I'm afraid a 2.0 earthquake or a good storm will be the end of Hwy 1. For now … Continue reading Porsche vs UPS Truck – Hwy 1, California
California Week
Spent more time flying last week than doing anything else, it was fun to go up just on a whim, also felt like I was pushing my luck a little on the flying side of things. I'm in a partnership plane, last week I was a passenger taking pictures with 2 of the partners and … Continue reading California Week
Office Space/Studio
Just writing out loud today, thinking of the pros & cons of getting a studio. I've been thinking about it for awhile, wondering if it would kick my butt into action for finally putting together some things I've done. My company, GrandView Services, has been sitting dormant when the FAA opened it up and … Continue reading Office Space/Studio
